AGE APPROPRIATE
ONSTAGE NY prides itself in maintaining a professional, classy, and family environment. Our ‘age-appropriate’ criteria will continue to appear on every score sheet-under Costuming, Music Choice, and Choreography. Necessary deductions will be taken. Disqualification may result, at the discretion of the judges.
SCORING
All entries are adjudicated by three qualified judges. Awards will be presented based on the following combined scores for each performance division.

Awards will be presented to all competing entries that meet the Platinum, High Gold, Gold, High Silver, Silver, and Bronze Criteria.
All Platinum, High Gold, Gold, High Silver, and Silver Awards will be eligible for the ONSTAGE NY 2020 National Finale.
HIGH SCORE AWARDS - ADVANCED
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place will be presented in Advanced Divisions, based on the number of entries.
1st Place - division must have 3 or more entries.
2nd Place- division must have 5 or more entries.
3rd Place - division must have 7 or more entries.
Overall Top 10 rankings will be announced for each division and/or age- based on the number of entries. For solos, each performer may only place one time in the Overall Top 10 - recognizing the soloists not the solo.
High score vocal awards will be separated and presented when the vocal division has 10 or more entries.
OVERALL AWARD CERTIFICATES - ADVANCED
High Score Award gift certificates will be presented to the OVERALL high scores in each of the SIX Age Divisions (Prep, Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior, Adult) - with FIVE or more entries in the ADVANCED level.

REGIONAL TITLE AWARDS
The following ONSTAGE NY Titles will be recognized in each Competition City.

All Advanced soloists in the mini, junior, teen & senior age divisions will automatically be considered for our title category. No additional registration fee necessary. Primary performers are not eligible.
All soloists being considered for title must have scored a 288 or better.
At each Regional event, a female and male titlist in each age division will be selected who demonstrated the best OVERALL performance.
Title Winners are not necessarily the highest scoring performers since the decision is made by the consensus of the judges’ panel.
All Title Winners, runner-ups and regional soloists receiving a high gold or platinum are equally eligible to compete at the National Grande Finale for the national title.
All Title Winners and runner-ups will be featured in our Gala Opening Number.
ONSTAGE NY Regional Title Winners will receive:
- Onstage NY Winner’s Jacket
- A NYC Dance Alliance Regional Workshop Scholarship **
- A $25 Lanteri NY Gift Certificate
- Automatic Acceptance into the NYC Dance Alliance Summer Dance Intensive (only for performers 14-19 years of age.) **
- NEW! $400 STEPS ON BROADWAY (NYC) Youth Program Summer Intensive Scholarship**
**This award cannot be combined with any other award or scholarship.
2019 National Title Winners are not eligible for 2020 Titles.
SPECIAL AWARDS
CLASS ACT AWARD: The judges will recognize one studio who consistently presents their dancers in a ‘classy’, professional, and age-appropriate manner. The award will come with a $200 ONSTAGE NY Gift Certificate – valid at the 2020 Finals or a 2021 Regional Competition.
TRIPLE THREAT AWARD: The judges will recognize a performer who has demonstrated exemplary acting, singing, and dancing talents in their performance. The winner will receive a $250 scholarship and automatic acceptance to the NYC Dance Alliance Summer Dance Intensive – to be redeemed anytime before their 20th birthday. In addition, the winner will receive a $50 Lanteri NY gift certificate. **This award cannot be combined with any other award or scholarship.
ENTERTAINMENT AWARD: The judges will recognize one entry in each of the FIVE Age Divisions they feel demonstrate outstanding entertainment qualities. The award will come with a $200 ONSTAGE NY Gift Certificate and FREE competition entry fees for that entry for the 2020 Onstage NY finals.
CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARD: The panel of judges will choose one number in each of FIVE Age Divisions and designate it as the ‘Best of Show’. Each ONSTAGE NY Regional Critics’ Choice Winner will receive FREE competition entry fees for that entry at the 2020 ONSTAGE NY Finals and a $200.00 ONSTAGE NY Gift Certificate. (Adult entries are not eligible for Critics’ Choice Awards.)
NEW! HIGH SCORE SOLOIST: Will be awarded a $400 STEPS ON BROADWAY (NYC) Youth Program Summer Intensive Scholarship. **This award cannot be combined with any other award or scholarship.
ALL 2019 Critics Choice winning entries may not compete in 2020.
Many other Judges Standout Awards may be presented each weekend - at the discretion of the judges
